Összesen hetvenegy jármű áll rajthoz Pápocon, és hosszú idő után több motoros és quados indul a tereprallye szezonnyitóján, mint autós
Egy nap – május 7-től 8-ig –, és elrajtol a Közép-Európai Zóna Bajnokság (CEZ) és a hatfutamos Nyílt Magyar Tereprallye Bajnokság 2021-es szezonnyitó viadala, a Riverside Baja. Örömteli hír, hogy a végleges nevezési lista alapján – 71 jármű lesz ott a rajtnál – minden eddigi részvételi csúcs megdől. Noha az érvényben lévő járványügyi jogszabályok lehetőséget adnának arra, hogy a kétnapos versenyt nézők is megtekinthessék, a szervezők az eredeti megállapodásokat szem előtt tartva bejelentették, a szurkolóknak nem lesz látogatható a viadal.
A Tereprallye versenynaptárába 2014-ben került be először a Riverside Baja, és a debütálás azonnal történelmire sikeredett, hiszen a rendkívül heves, már-már trópusi esőzések miatt törölni kellett az utolsó szakaszt. Nos, úgy tűnik, hogy az idei hatodik versenyen is nyomot hagyhat az időjárás, ugyanis az előrejelzések szerint a pénteki két szakasz alatt bőséges csapadék várható. Garamvölgyi Zoltán, a Riverside Baja rendezője elárulta, mindez nem veszélyezteti a verseny megrendezését.
A főszervező hozzátette, titokban reménykedett abban, hogy a tavalyi, versenymentes év után nagy létszámban neveznek majd a versenyzők, ám arra az álmában sem mert gondolni, hogy megdőlhet a 2019-es nevezési rekord, amikor összesen 66 jármű állt rajthoz a Riverside Baján. Nos, ez a rekord máris a múlté, hiszen hét országból – lengyel, cseh, szlovák, román, olasz, osztrák és magyar versenyzők – összesen 71 jármű nevezett a viadalra, ami egyértelműen részvételi rekord a Riverside eddigi történetében, és kijelenthető, hogy a HunGarian Baja világkupa-futam kivételével az elmúlt tíz esztendőben nem rendeztek ilyen magas létszámban tereprallye versenyt.
Ráadásul ezúttal a három kategóriában – autó, side by side, motor és quad – hosszú idő után először lesznek többségben a motorosok és a quadosok, hiszen összesen 37-en vágnak neki a kétnapos viadalnak. A mezőny erejét jól mutatja, hogy több, a Dakart is megjárt versenyző is ott lesz a rajtnál, többek között az a Miroslav Zapletal is, aki 2019-ben az összetett magyar bajnoki címet is megszerezte, valamint hét hölgy is próbára teszi magát az összesen 227 kilométer – pénteken kétszer 13,5 kilométer, míg szombaton kétszer 50,2 és kétszer 49,8 kilométer vár mindenkire – hosszú versenyen. Ehhez mindössze egy alig több mint 10 kilométeres összekötő szakaszt használnak majd, ami a szervező szerint egyedülálló egy ilyen hosszú verseny esetében.
„Régen látott erős mezőnynek köszönhetően egyébként a szervizpark szinte kinőtte az eredetileg kijelölt helyet a pápoci művelődési ház mellett, így a település nagy részén megtalálhatóak lesznek a versenyzők és a csapatok. Nosztalgikus hangulat lesz ez párunknak, hiszen amikor bekerültem a tereprallye világába, bizony ez volt a jellemző a rengeteg induló miatt” – közölte Garamvölgyi Zoltán.
A szakember állítja, a lehető legjobb körülmények várják a csapatokat és a versenyzőket, és biztos lehet abban mindenki, csodálatos szezonnyitó vár mindenkire. Ugyanakkor nézőket annak ellenére nem tudnak fogadni, hogy a járványügyi szabályok egyébként erre lehetőséget biztosítanak.
„A Riverside Baja sajnos nem látogatható a nézők számára, ugyanis az engedélyeink így kerültek kiadásra, és nagyon fontos szándékunk, hogy az érintett kistelepülések lakóit, valamint a versenyzőinket és tisztségviselőinket – ezáltal a Rendezvényt – meg tudjuk óvni és problémamentesen le tudjuk bonyolítani. Kérjük fentiek szíves megértését és tudomásul vételét” – fogalmazott a főszervező.
A Riverside Baja történetében először két különdíj kiosztására is sor kerül. Vönöck település különdíjat ajánlott fel a negyedik szakasz leggyorsabb versenyzőjének, míg a házigazda Pápoc a viadal legszebb járművét jutalmazza. Utóbbi esetben az lesz az első, akinek járműve a Riverside Baja Facebook oldalán május 8-ám, azaz szombaton reggel 9.00-tól 17 óráig a legtöbb szavazatot – kedvelő jelet – kapja.
A total of seventy-one vehicles will race in Pápoc, and after a long time we can cheer for more motorbike and quad riders than drivers on the opening race of the Off-Road Championship.
One day – from May 7 to 8 – and the 2021 season-opening race of the Central European Zone Championship (CEZ) and the six-event Hungarian Open Off-Road Championship will began with the Riverside Baja. The good news is that based on the final entry list – 71 vehicles will be there – all of the previous entry records are broken. Although the current epidemiological legislation would allow spectators to visit the competition, the organisers announced that the fans will not be able to attend as the original agreements and licences do not allow them.
Riverside Baja was first included in the off-road race calendar in 2014, and the debut event was immediately historical, as the last stage was cancelled due to the extremely heavy, almost tropical rains. Well, it looks like the weather could leave a mark on this year’s race as well, as the forecasts expect heavy rains during the two stages on Friday. Zoltán Garamvölgyi, the chief organizer of Riverside Baja, revealed that all this does not endanger the execution of the competition.
The chief organizer added he hoped that after last year’s race drought, a large number of competitors would enter, but he never dared to think that the 2019 entry record could be broken. That time a total of 66 vehicles started at Riverside Baja. Well, from now this record is the past, as from seven countries – Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Italy, Austria and Hungary – a total of 71 vehicles entered the race which is a clear participation record in the history of the Riverside’s and with the exception of the HunGarian Baja World Cup race, no such high-participated off-road event has been held in the last ten years.
Furthermore, for the first time in a long time in the three categories – cars, side by sides, motorbikes and quads – motorbike and quad riders will be in majority, with a total of 37 competitors at the two-day race event. There will be several driver and rider at the start who have already competed on Dakar, including Miroslav Zapletal, who won the Hungarian Championship in 2019. Moreover, seven ladies will test themselves for a total of 227 kilometres – on Friday 13.5 kilometres twice, and on Saturday 50.2 and 49.8 kilometres twice – long race. The connection stage will be only 10 kilometres long which is quite unique in such a long race according to the chief organiser.
’Due to the high participation the service park has almost outgrown the originally designated place next to the Pápoc House of Culture so the competitors and the teams will be found near and around everywhere in the settlement. It will be a nostalgic atmosphere for a couple of us, because when I got into the world of off-road rallying, it was typical because of the number of the participants.’ – said Zoltán Garamvölgyi.
The chief organiser claims the best possible conditions are awaiting for the teams and competitors and you can be sure that everyone will enjoy the wonderful opening event. However, spectators are not allowed to visit the race despite the fact that epidemiological rules otherwise provide an opportunity to do so.
’Unfortunately, on the Riverside Baja we cannot open our doors to the public as our permits have been issued in this way. In addition, we would like to do everything we can in order to keep the small town, the competitors and officials – thus the event – safe. Please understand and take note of the above mentioned rules.’ – said the chief organiser.
For the first time in the history of Riverside Baja, there will be two special prizes as well. The town of Vönöck offered an individual prize to the fastest driver in the fourth stage, while the host place Pápoc rewards the most beautiful vehicle of the competition. In the latter case, the winner will be the vehicle which gets the most likes on the Riverside Baja Facebook page on May 8 from 9am to 5 pm.
